Articles
Articles
Articles are words that mean the, a, one or some. In Spanish, articles have different endings for feminine, masculine, singular or plural, and they agree with the noun they accompany:

  • el hombre the man, la mesa the table, los libros the books, las novelas the novels
  • un hombre a man, una mesa a table, unos libros some books, unas novelas some novels

  • The article is, actually, the best way to find out the gender of a noun. El problema, for instance, is a masculine noun, even if it ends in a, and la mano, is a feminine noun ending in o.
